This modern lake lodge on Portage Lake in Pinckney, MI, is a sophisticated reimagining of a classic family retreat. Set to be completed in early 2026, this full teardown and rebuild masterfully balances efficient design with a family-oriented vision, fitting five bedrooms into its compact footprint.

The architectural design includes a thoughtfully articulated, varied roofline; cladding in a combination of metal and thermally modified wood siding; and helical piers drilled 90’ underground for a strong foundation. The rear facade, framed by mature trees, features a dramatic vaulted ceiling and expansive, large-scale windows that provide panoramic lake views and seamlessly connect the interior to the serene waterfront.

"A home's detailing and its landscape are very similar. Even immense landscapes are based on microscope moments and a well designed home is its reflection."
