In collaboration with The Fabulous Mr. Fix It, Giraffe Design Build is ecstatic to be presenting our latest completed new build project on this year's Showcase of Homes presented by the Builder & Remodeler's Association of Greater Ann Arbor.
This beautiful modern home is sited along a flat ridge near the back of a rolling hillside property. The floor plan was driven by a desire to gather as a family and to host friends, with a central open-concept living, kitchen, and dining room space functioning as the heart of the home. Floor-to-ceiling glass on the south facing elevation brings in loads of natural light, and a wood clad rear porch acts as an extension of the main living space to transition to the spacious yard beyond.
The home’s exterior features an elegant material palette, consisting of white corrugated steel, thermally modified pine siding, black windows and matching trim. The composition creates a clean, unified appearance while revealing subtle textural qualities upon closer inspection. The sharp, angled faces of the matte black dormers pull and bounce light from the outside and serve as an aesthetic break from the textures and flow of the main house.
